Municipal Solid Waste Treatment Plant – Steel Roof Structure of Building 2.04
Building 2.04 is a single-storey facility with a composite steel and reinforced concrete structure, designed on a rectangular plan:
• Length: 119.35 m
• Width: 39.35 m
• Height: 18.00 m
The building serves as a sorting hall and is structurally separated by expansion joints along its entire perimeter from adjacent structures.
The lower part of the building consists of a monolithic reinforced concrete column-wall structure, forming a compact cuboidal volume.
Steel roof trusses, which serve as the primary load-bearing structure of the roof, are supported on the reinforced concrete columns.
The steel trusses, spanning 39.3 m, are made of square hollow sections and have a double-pitched trapezoidal geometry, with a height of approximately 3.00 m at the supports and 3.68 m at mid-span.
In the longitudinal direction of the building, the trusses are braced with:
• Struts at the top chord level
• Three rows of members at the bottom chord level
• Bracings made of Ø24 mm round bars
All structural members are made of closed square hollow sections, ensuring proper structural stability.
