Municipal Solid Waste Treatment Plant – Detailed and Shop Design of the Steel Roof Structure for Building 2.06
Building 2.06 is a single-storey structure with a composite steel and reinforced concrete design.
The building has a rectangular footprint:
• Length (grid axes): 39.56 m
• Width (grid axes): 26.915 m
• Structural height: approx. 17.7 m (maximum), approx. 9.1 m (minimum)
The sorting hall storage building is an unenclosed, unheated structure, functioning as a roofed shelter with multiple gates. It is structurally separated from adjacent buildings by expansion joints.
The main load-bearing system consists of a monolithic reinforced concrete column-wall structure, forming a truncated cuboid, where the upper base is inclined in two planes with different slopes: 3% and 35%. The change in roof slope occurs along the diagonal of the building, at the ridge line.
The primary roof structure consists of trusses arranged parallel to the roof ridge.
Purlins are supported by these trusses as well as by reinforced concrete beams.
