Municipal Solid Waste Treatment Plant – Detailed and Shop Design of the Steel Support Structure for the Condenser

The support structure consists of four steel trusses, each approximately 3 m in height and 25 m in span, designed in a two-span configuration.

Structural elements:
• The top and bottom chords are made of hot-rolled HEB400 sections
• The diagonals and verticals of the trusses are made of square hollow sections, selected according to internal force magnitudes

Structural stability is ensured by a system of horizontal bracing and struts located in the plane of the top chord.
Loads are transferred to the reinforced concrete structures of adjacent buildings through diagonal struts.

Support conditions:
• On the reinforced concrete roof of Building 1.07, the structure is supported via non-sliding pinned connections
• On Building 1.08, sliding pinned supports were used, allowing movement perpendicular to the truss axis
